Apply for e-Visa in a timely manner as soon as you receive an unconditional offer from the Institution / University
Plan your flight tickets in advance with insurance for yourself and your luggages – to avoid last minute rush or worry about journey
Pack your personal belongings, documents and adequate clothing as per the weather conditions. Please refer to the Australian customs guideline while packing items from your home country
Avoid packing cooked food items, food items which include animal or plant products, as most of them are not allowed into Australia. Certain medicines and food additives should be in sealed packs, labelled and must be declared with Customs on arrival in your passenger card.
Passport size photographs: You may require some photographs on your arrival and carrying your latest photographs may help you
Personal documents: Bring original or certified copies of your academic transcripts including IELTS, work reference, birth certificate, letter of offer and eCoE, and copy of your visa application documents. Documents not in English should have a translated copy in English. Translation of a document page may cost you over 35 – 40 AUD.
Other documents: Collect your passport with visa issue letter, airline ticket and health insurance details.
Money: You must bring enough Australian currency in cash to meet your initial expenses and have access to 2000 AUD to 3000 AUD in traveller’s cheque/bank drafts in your name.

The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has financial requirements you must meet in order to receive a student visa for Australia. The 12-month living cost is:

Partner or spouse – $7,100
Child – $3,040
These costs do not include the expenses associated with course(s) fees at the University
Ongoing expenses you may incur:
Utility payments e.g. electricity, gas and telephone, monthly or every three months
Living expenses e.g. rent, food, transport, entertainment, weekly
Educational expenses e.g. photocopy, printing, stationery etc.
Unexpected expenses e.g. return home, family visits, health costs not covered by overseas student health cover.
